Re: GEK-EDC with homemade leather sheath

;-) Thanks
*It's not only a logo, it's my hobby-leatherworking-super-maker-stam *lol

I wanted to create a stamp that reflects my roots
I tought, close to that, I had to take a Star of David
I also had to integrate the Hebrew Scriptures
Because I'm proud of it!

So my maker stamp was born ;-)
I run the leatherworking as a hobby
And I was not sure if an investment in a maker stamp would be useful

Now I know: It's good. For the soul

Re: GEK-EDC with homemade leather sheath

!Thanks :-)

Thats the reasons why I dont like push buttons
and prefer the button studs

You have to bebe careful with the strap, that's right
You get used to it after a while :-)

I open up the strap with the index finger
I press the strap back with the little finger
and pull out the knife

There is a second option of this model
fasten the strap on top like this:

Re: GEK-EDC with homemade leather sheath

תודה לך!

I think it's always a question of personal taste
and for the reason of everyday use
But thanks for your comments, maybe I'll consider it on the next project.

GEK-EDC with homemade leather sheath

Hi everybody!

I'm Andy, 30 years old from Muenster, Germany. I would like to show you some of my leather work. I hope writing in english is okay. I'm able to understand and speak hebrew, but my written hebrew is very bad but. I study hard to improve my skills! ;-)

Thank you that I can be here!

Out of necessity and an absolute aversion to Kydex, I started some years ago making my own leather sheaths. Out of necessity means that the people who offer custom leather sheaths for sale, have either totally over inflated prices, or the sheaths are so beautiful that I hardly dare to use them.

Now, I want to show you my favorite knife, the GEK-EDC from Eickhorn with a homemade leathersheath i've made. The company Eickhorn is not known to deliver very sharp knives, a friend has sharpen the knife and rounded the scales a bit, because the scales were very angular. I am able to process leather, but not to sharpen knives :D

Some Specs: Boehler K110 tool steel (HRC 59). Brown G10 handle. Hole for security strap. Hammer on end of handle. Overall length 23 cm. Blade length 11,5 cm. Blade thickness 5 mm. Weight 196 g.

So i hope u like my work!
